This week's Hinesville Rotary Club meeting centered on one of the organization's most enduring values: ethics.
Members had the opportunity to hear from Jeff Ricketson, a longtime Hinesville Rotarian and respected community leader. Throughout his years of service, Jeff has served as Club President, Grant Chair, and Executive Director of the Liberty Consolidated Planning Commission (LCPC). His dedication to both Rotary and the Liberty County community has been reflected in numerous initiatives, including local high school scholarship programs, environmental stewardship projects such as the Earth Day storm drain marking campaign, and many other efforts that continue to make a positive impact.
During his presentation, Jeff shared the history and importance of ethical leadership, including one of the earliest written codes of ethics dating back centuries. His discussion encouraged members to reflect on the timeless principles of integrity, accountability, and service that continue to guide both personal and professional decision-making today.
The meeting also marked a special milestone as the club proudly welcomed a new Rotarian into the Hinesville Rotary family. New member inductions serve as an important reminder that Rotary's mission continues to grow through individuals who are committed to serving others and strengthening our community.
With meaningful conversation, historical perspective, and the celebration of new membership, the meeting reflected Rotary's ongoing commitment to fellowship, leadership, and "Service Above Self."
Jimmy Shanken, Chairman of the Long County Development Authority, delivered an insightful presentation to the Rotary Club of Long County, highlighting key trends and growth opportunities in the Long County Market Update. His remarks underscored the region’s ongoing development, investment potential, and the community partnerships driving local economic progress.
Jimmy Shanken was officially sworn in as President of the Hinesville Rotary Club for the 2025–2026 term. The ceremony marked a proud moment of service, leadership, and continued commitment to our community.
